The Zaporizhzhia State Medical University was established earlier in 1903, for Women Pedagogic Courses in Odessa. Then in 1935, the university was rehabilitated in the State Pharmaceutical Institute. In 1959, the institute was shifted from Odessa to Zaporizhzhia city, and renamed as Zaporizhzhia Pharmaceutical Institute. Later on, Zaporizhzhia Medical Institute was reformed as the Zaporizhzhia State Medical University of the IV Accreditation level in 1994. Since then, the university delivers the sublime quality of education in the field of medical education in Zaporizhzhia, located in the south eastern part of Ukraine. The institute is one of the oldest autonomous higher medical institutions in Ukraine. The MBBS degree provided by the ZSMU, are acknowledged by MCI, WHO and UNESCO.
